There is now a very effective process that has been created to tackle what was a problem - it has been hugely succesful and changed the way diamonds are traded. The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. Kimberley Process Participants now account for approximately 99.8% of the global production of rough diamonds.

It is a system that imposes extensive requirements on Participants to certify that shipments of rough diamonds are free from conflict diamonds. It is a joint government, international diamond industry and civil society initiative to stem the flow of conflict diamonds. The companies we work with participate in this process to ensure that the diamonds we buy have been guaranteed to have avoided any conflict along the way.
